Lore & Background
The Northern Water Tribe had long remained hidden from the Fire Nation's reach due to its remote location at the North Pole. However, Admiral Zhao, obsessed with proving his superiority over General Iroh, discovered a way to locate it through a captured waterbender. His strategy was not merely military conquest but spiritual annihilation; he sought to capture and kill Tui, the Moon Spirit, which provided the source of all waterbending power. Without the moon's influence, waterbenders would be rendered powerless, leaving the rest of the world vulnerable.
The conflict escalated when Zhao successfully assassinated Tui in the spirit oasis, plunging the ocean into darkness and silencing the tides. This act triggered a catastrophic imbalance, causing Princess Yue to sacrifice her own life force to restore the moon, while Avatar Aang merged with the Ocean Spirit (La) to become a colossal entity of pure waterbending fury. But deep beneath the waves, something ancient and furious began to rise, turning the calm ocean into a churning vortex of white rage.

The siege begins with Admiral Zhao's fleet arriving at the Northern Water Tribe, launching a massive assault that overwhelms the city's outer defenses. While Fire Nation soldiers breach the walls, Zuko infiltrates the city separately to capture Avatar Aang, leading to a chaotic duel amidst the chaos of battle.
As the fighting intensifies, Zhao captures Tui and kills it in the spirit oasis, causing all waterbenders to lose their abilities.
